Title : VACCINE AGAINST CLASSIC PIG PLAGUE (PLIVAK-KS/
CHOLERAVAC) The problem the
inventor(s) wanted to solve Description. ¸ An original
classic pig plague vaccine production process is developed using a lapinised
C breed (LC, C=China). Virus
suspension is produced by permanent breeding (mitosis) of a permanently
infested pig’s kidney cell culture MPK-LC (MPK=minipig kidney) in rotating
containers and collection of supernatant with final double harvest. The
suspension of vaccinal virus is distributed after microbiological and
virological control, stabilizer is added and the suspension is liofilized into
products containing 10, 20 or 50 dosages/bottles. In
comparison to the lapinised vaccine prepared by infecting rabbits or the
vaccine produced in the 90s from the C breed in the MPK cell culture at
Instituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale (Brescia, Italy), the new process
results in a much higher yield of vaccinal virus (up to tenfold) at a vaccine
protective rate of PD50, which complies to highest world standards (European
Pharmacopoeia EP 2005). Genome
analisys of VETERINA’s vaccinal virus bred by the new procedure confirmed
absolute identicalness with parental lapinised C breed (stored at Instituto
Zooprofilattico Sperimentale, Brescia, Italy and > 5% difference compared
to the Brescia pathogen breed). Excellent
results regarding commercial value and implementation were achieved in the
Republic of Croatia in the period 2000-2005 (with full protection of
vaccinated animals). Vaccination is stopped in 2005 due to legislative
homologization with the EU. The vaccine is sold in the BiH, Macedonia,
Philippines and Vietnam, and the process of registration in several other
Eurasian countries is under way.
