Title: New high performance
polymeric composites based
on polycarbonate CD waste
The problem the
inventor(s) wanted to solve – recycling of CD
wastes
Description: Process for
recycling polycarbonate waste (mainly compact discs) based on one-step reactive extrusion
and filling with glass fibers, graphite, montmorillonite, etc. in a
twin-screw extruder for producing a variety of new ecological high
performance polymeric composites. Low-cost alternative to commercial
engineering thermoplastics.
Presentation.
POSTER
Fields of application: electrical and electronic
industries, automotive and car industries (toothed and chain wheels, sleeves,
drift fender, valves, compression rings, rotary pumps, filter plates and frames,
slipper elements, etc.); others: rails for band and chain conveyors, bowling
track, guard rail etc.
Advantages: The
materials having a high-impact strength, good
thermal properties belong to engineering thermoplastics.
Stage of development. pre-production prototype,
