Title: Anti Static and Flame Retardant Velour Upholstery Material – VELANT

The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve:

Description: The subject of the invention is characterized by high safety upholstery velour material – VELANT. This material with permanent-life time anti static, flame retardant properties, high comfort of use, enriched design and aesthetics virtues, is produced using weaving or dual warp knitting techniques.

Presentation:  Poster

Fields of application Adequately designed construction solutions bring VELANT unlimited pattern opportunities (including possibilities of reconstruction of the historical design).

Anti static and flame retardant velour- VELANT is dedicated for upholstery and seats in areas protected against the static electricity and danger of fire, especially for furnishing in public utility buildings (concert hall, hotels) and historic buildings making cultural heritage. This material is also qualified for seats covers in public transport as well as for working stands in places that require protection against electric discharges and electric fields.

Advantages: Advantages of the VELANT velour are achieved by using conductive threads in textile pile and/or in bottom layer and flame retardant yarns in whole product. This enables to reach the programmed protection against static electricity in dependence on diverse end-use areas (electrical resistance 105 to 109 W, charge decay time ≤ 0.01 sec) and meets fire safety criteria for historic objects and public utility buildings as well as means of transport. VELANT is the innovative High-tech material, safe in its whole life cycle, in service for modernity and history.
