1.  The Invention

 

Title: Computer-aided projecting of gas nitriding processes with utilization of simulation and methods of artificial intelligence

The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve - Efficient computer-aided designing of processes of nitride and carbonitride layers constitution with programmed physicochemical, technological and maintenance properties.

Description The basic idea of the invention is an application of engineering databases, von Neuman’s system concept as well as the models of virtual engineering, including knowledge bases, an expert system and the methods of weak artificial intelligence for efficient designing of surface layers properties and computer simulations of gas nitriding processes.

An utilitarian effect of the invention is the computer system working in Windows environment. The main modules of the system contain: a database, an expert system, a simulation module of kinematic process’s characteristics and a layer-growth kinetics, a module of artificial neural networks for forecasting of manufactured layers properties as well as module evolutional algorithm for optimization of gas nitriding processes

Fields of application: The computer system might be used in both industrial companies and in research and development institutions.

Advantages: The system application enables shortening of the time needed for preparing and implementation of gas nitriding processes. An optimization of nitriding processes, as early as at the designing stage, brings measurable economic effects (reduction in electric energy costs and increase of processes efficiency) as well as ecological (limitation of ammonia consumption).
