The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve:

Description. A range of sol-gel derived SiO2 and mixed SiO2/TiO2 nanospheres of narrow size distribution with tailored structure focused on potential applications were developed. Homogeneous structural properties were achieved due to carefully selected sol-gel process parameters.The functionalized silica nanospheres were successfully applied as immobilized components of polymer nanocomposites.
