	Title: New high performance biodegradable thermoplastic starch-based materials for packaging applications The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve – Description: The invention is set out to prepare new biodegradable thermoplastic starch based materials with good processing and mechanical properties, including high elasticity and resistance to both high moisture and high temperature strain, using a two stage process carried out in a modular intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruder. Presentation. POSTER  Fields of application: The miscibility of the blend components is improved and creates special properties, originating from the chemical bonds between the component materials. Advantages: Biodegradable thermoplastic starch-based polymers (potato, corn), processed according to the invention, can be used for preparation of any kind of packaging (e.g. plates, cups, bottles, films).
