Title:

 High speed acquiring 3D system for analysing of ballistic body armor deformation

The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve

Optimization of body armor structure in view point of deformation during bullet impact loading, required knowing this phenomena from initial penetration to complete bullet stopping.

Description.
Selected generating line of cone deformation is lighted by linear light source. During penetrating of body armor lighting line of cone which is in light plane, is “suspended” in space as curve which continuous change geometry. By the optical stage this curve is projected on the photosensitive surface of PSD sensor, where deformation is measured. Reconstruction of cone is possibility by acquire some generating lines and applying approximation algorithm.
