1.  The Invention

 

Title:  Method and device for manufacturing carbon-coated fibrous materials

The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve: Elaboration of the method of thermal bonding of active carbon with a thermoplastic material. This solution will give the possibility of creating new highly effective adsorption materials.

Description.: The invention method is based on the thermal bonding of active carbon on the surface of thermoplastic fibres in non-wovens. A special device was constructed to implement this method. A gravitational-electrostatic method of applying carbon onto the thermoplastic material permits a high rate of surface carbonizing (20%).

Fields of application: In air conditioning, ventilation, filtration, hospitals, protection of respiratory systems.

Advantages: Materials obtained with the invented method have advantageous properties when used and in the protection against detrimental vapors. They have highly effective properties adsorbing molecules and smells of various substances.
