Title:
Three-dimensional tomography for gravitational flow of industrial
particulates
The problem the inventor(s) wanted
to solve: Authors propose 3D non-invasive visualization
system is particularly important for better understanding and monitoring of industrial
processes. So far, only partial, 2D tomography was applied for solid-air
systems.
Description: Novel arrangement of tomographic sensor coupled with
3D image reconstruction and measurement protocol compose a completely
three-dimensional expounding tool for powder flow study, monitoring,
diagnostics and control. It enables determination of dynamics descriptive
parameters associated with hoppers unloading process.
Presentation.
POSTER
Fields of application: Presented solution can be deployed in
pharmaceutical, chemical or food industries for processes of storing and
dosing material in production of granulates and powders.
Advantages: The greatest benefit of the new system is
measurement vector conveying more wealthy information about inspected space
comparing to classic 2D approach. Recorded data are transformed into 3D
graphics using dedicated image reconstruction algorithms. Such methodology
can be employed as an industrial diagnostic method for the gravitational
granular flow, as illustrated by the example, or for other powder-involving
processes.
