1.  The Invention

Title

Vision system for analysis of metals and alloys specimens geometric features in high temperatures

The problem the inventor(s) wanted to solve)

Precise determination of metals and alloys specimens geometric features in high temperatures. High degree polynomial approximation of specimens edge. Aura effect elimination at the stage of image processing.

Description. Give a general idea of what the invention is about
Vision system is an element of a computer system for determining physical-chemical materials’ properties. The system source data comes from image obtained from a high resolution camera. Algorithms of high temperature image processing and analysis used in the system have been developed to minimize the thermal effect influence and maximize precision of specimens geometric features determination.

Presentation. POSTER
Fields of application
Presented system can be used in many industry branches, where modern technology of materials joining is used.

Advantages
High frequency of the specimens image capturing (25 images per second) and high resolution of used camera allows obtaining numerous data set for further analysis. Proposed image processing and analysis algorithms allow better precision of physical-chemical properties calculation like wetting angle and surface tension.
