Wind turbines with coaxial shafts at ground level are installed in foundation pits. Blades catching wind streams are located radially on wind turbine drums. The installation has an electric current generator.

Description & Presentation

The layout drawing is a spiral made as an ellipse. Constriction of tunnels is carried out with by one mechanized shaft-sinking set in diameter of 5.63 m. Tunnels are laid with one pit-face and one mechanized  shaft-sinking set without a delay for assembling and disassembling of shaft-sinking equipment. Chambers for radioactive waste products are located on depth of 65÷150 m from a ground`s surface in clay formations

The material is used in complex power structures: in units of aviation and space purposes, high-speed ships as hull materials, nuclear reactor units, car parts, etc.

 

Advantages

Addition of scandium microquantities increases the tensile and yield strength of aluminium alloys and provides high stability at heating. The invention allows to simplify and reduce the cost of technology to obtain high-strength aluminium alloys (decrease temperature and melting time).

Bioleaching of sulphide gold-containing ores

Technical result of this invention is reduction of time for treatment of sulphidic gold-containing ores due to increase of sulfides oxidation rate at bacterial leaching.

 

Description & Presentation

The method for treatment of sulphide gold-containing concentrates consists in the use of technology of biological leaching at heating of gas-air mix up to temperature of 40˚С. It allows to maintain temperature of a bacterial solution in the range of 18÷25˚С (optimum conditions for bacteria vital functions).

Advantages

The process is ecologically clean. The increase of the gold extraction rate up to 90% in comparison with 30-40% at direct cyanidation of sulphide ores. Expenses on maintenance of reactors are decreased due to increase in sulfides oxidation rate (2 times).

 BOF steelmaking comprises charging of metal scrap and hot iron, addition of slag-forming materials, blowing with oxygen lance. The lance height at the blowing start and end is determined by empirical dependence, and during the blowing, when carbon oxidation occurs, the height is adjusted depending on the off-gas temperature

 

Fields of application

This invention is applied to steelmaking in BOF

 

 

Advantages

The lance height in relation to flat bath level is changed with due account for ongoing slag forming processes. Thus it prevents steel spitting and decreases deposits on oxygen lance and gas-cooling hood.

 Regulation of finishing and coiling temperatures as well as strip cooling conditions at intermediate and delivery tables enables formation of optimum microstructure.  Speed-temperature conditions of rolling and coiling are specified as factor of the final strip thickness in accordance with its strength properties

This method is used for obtaining similar mechanical properties of the final strips with different thicknesses intended for further pressing

 

Advantages

The final fine-grain microstructure ensures the achievement of the ductility index which governs suitability of rolled material for further processing, including cold rolling with downstream pressing, with respect to both thin strip and plates with identical mechanical properties.

The technical problem to be solved by this invention consists in decreasing the costs for purchasing expensive knives and improving the quality of slit material

 

Description&Presentation

 The method involves application of normal and counter forces to the strip surface at the point of division with simultaneous stretching of slit narrow strips. During slitting, electrical current is delivered to divided parts to heat the metal in division point; during stretching of slit strips, their cross sections are turned to one side at a certain angle.

 The invention is applied to slitting of a wide strip into narrow strips of required width

 

Advantages

This method contributes to improvement of the slit material quality, prevents "sticking" of slit strips' edges and provides freedom from any edge defects. It has become possible to slit strong steels with the help of rolls made of low-cost carbon steel.

 Steel is processed in a hot-rolling strip mill at a specified finishing temperature. Before coiling, the strip is subjected to differentiated water cooling. Speed-temperature conditions of rolling and coiling are specified as factor of the final strip thickness in accordance with its strength properties.

This invention is applied to production of hot-rolled strip for further processing by hot-dip galvanizing

 

Advantages

It ensures required mechanical properties of a wide hot-rolled strip intended for pickling and zinc coating (by hot dipping) omitting the cold rolling stage.

Description&Presentation

 Production of rolled steel comprises making of steel with certain chemical composition, ladle treatment, continuous casting, austenitizing, roughing and finishing rolling at 980-730°С with total reduction of 65-80%, individual reductions of 10-12% and strain rate 10-2-10 s-1. The interstand cooling rate is 5-30°С/s. 

 

Fields of application

This invention is applied to production of rolled steel for manufacturing gas/oil pipelines to be used in regions of the Extreme North (arctic application).

Advantages

This invention is the first ever developed technology which ensures the production of rolled steel for demanding applications with no extra costs incurred due to optimum selection of chemical composition and hot rolling conditions. The resulting rolled products have been positively evaluated by the Russian pipe makers

This rolling technique involves consecutive reductions of a billet. After the control pass, the billet is centered by both lower and upper roll; the web width in the following passes remains constant, and the required size is obtained in the last pass by means of straightening the web.
