IFIA GRANTS THE LEGAL
TITLE TO THE INVENTORS
What is Inv Title?
Assignment of title to the inventors. Doctors and Ph.D. holders in all countries use Dr as Title.
Engineers in some countries use Eng as a Title. Such a title helps to differentiate qualified and
competent professionals from the rest. On the other hand, no system recognizes genuine
inventors and innovators, contributing significantly to the knowledge economy and adding to
the public stock of knowledge. It was proposed to institutionalize an arrangement whereby
the innovators are recognized with the title based on their competency and track record as a
member of Chartered Innovators Council. It was approved to use the title “Inv” for inventors and
innovators.
in order to respect inventors, it was mandated that the INV title awarded to the inventors
alongside IFIA Membership by requirements.
