Following the proposal of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) regarding
the “International Inventor’s Day” which was admitted by the majority of IFIA executive
Committee members, it was unanimously agreed to organize The “International
Inventor’s Day (IID)” alongside the selected national similar event. The first international
inventor’s day was held on February 2nd, 2008 in Bangkok together with the Inventor’s
day in Thailand. Afterward, the second issue of “International Inventor’s Day (IID)”
was arranged on the 2nd of February 2009 in Bangkok concurrent with the Inventor’s
Day in Thailand.
Thereafter, IFIA Executive Committee accepted to organize the third issue of
International Inventor’s Day alongside Argentina’s Inventor’s Day which is the
birthday (September 29) of László Bíró who is the inventor of the ballpoint pen. The
celebration was organized one month later connected to the IFIA General Assembly
on 29 October 2010, alongside the iENA exhibition in Nuremberg.

IFIA launched on November 15, 1999 a virtual showcase and online
