The 7th Annual of IFIA World
Competition of Chemical
Inventions Is Organized
in Poland
The 6th edition of the World Competition of Chemical Inventions 2017, organized
by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), took place during
the International Warsaw Invention Show from 9 to 11 October.
The jury of the competition consisted of:
1. Prof. Grzegorz Grynkiewicz, Pharmaceutical Research Institute
2. Jerzy Polaczek, deputy editor of the Chemical Industry
3. Prof. Victor Andrei Sandu, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi
Two out of 40 chemical inventions were awarded during chemical competi-
tion. The main prize of the of the 6th World Competition of Chemical Inventions
went to Croatia to the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and
Technology for “Laboratory polymer filament extruder for 3D printing of micro-
reactors”. The aim of this research is to develop an instrument for extrusion of
polymeric filament with uniformed diameter for purpose of 3D printing of micro-
reactors. In process of making the extruder, widely available materials were used,
while required plastic parts were made using 3D printer. The Arduino platform,
in which the computer program was written, provides measuring and process
control via the control panel of the device.
The second prize was granted to The First Institute Inventors & Researchers in
I.R.IRAN for “The filter screwed over the bottle of water cap for physical purifica-
tion and re-dissolution of essential mineral”.
In this invention, a Nano filter which is screwed on the bottle of mineral water
orifice blocks the water. This filter avoids the passing of any minerals and pol-
lution and changes the polluted water into the drinking water. The filter will be
dissolved into the water after the essential minerals are filtered. The similar filters
have been made but the distinguishing feature of this product is this low volume
filter can be accessible for the public everywhere and any time to provide healthy
drinking water.
