INVENTORS AWARD ORGANIZED IN
BALI, INDONESIA
The 5th International Young Inventors Award (IYIA) was held from 19-22 September 2018 in
Inna Grand Bali Beach by Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (IN-
NOPA), under the patronage of International Federation of Inventors’ Associations and
supported by Mayor of Denpasar Bali.
The IYIA has been organized for five consecutive years in Jakarta, Surabaya and
this year in Bali. The main purpose of this event is to appreciate young inventors
around the world who have dedicated themselves in creating innovative proj-
ects, as well as providing a platform to gather and facilitate all young inventors
to share knowledge and transfer technology from different countries. The
inventors are provided an opportunity to work together to create an idea
with a more extensive and positive impact to the society.
This year, more than 5000 young inventors with 317 Projects and inno-
vations were present in IYIA 2018 from around 15 countries including
Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Philippines, Chinese
Taipei, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Jordan, and also
Hong Kong.
During the 4-day event, not only were exhibition and com-
petition organized, but cultural exchange between countries
happened through showing up their own culture. The par-
ticipants were also taken on a tour to Bali Island in Indo-
nesia.
IFIA Best Invention Medal was granted to Indonesia
Young Inventor Mr. Hibatul Ghazi Zulhasmi from Uni-
versitas Gajah Mada for his innovation titled “Netra
– Visually Impaired Bank Services”. Other prizes
including Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO), Bronze,
Silver, Gold, Special Award, Semi Grand Prize
and Grand Prize in the form of fully funded
competition to an international event and
scholarship were also awarded.
