Powering Change: Women in

Innovation & Creativity

April 26 has been designated as World IP Day by World Intellectual Property Organiza-
tion (WIPO) to enhance understanding of IP since 2000. Therefore, World IP Day has
provided an outstanding opportunity to join hands with others around the world to
reflect on how IP contributes to the blossoming of music and the arts and to encourag-
ing innovation and creativity that helps shape our world.

IFIA joins WIPO in celebrating World IP Day 2018 with its underlying theme of “Powering
change: Women in innovation and creativity”.

We at IFIA would like to display and celebrate the life-changing ideas that women have
come up with helping to eradicate our everyday problems and advance technology,
industry and economy.

Women are taking us into a wonderland of experience and understanding as they step

into the creative sphere and express their creativity in the most brilliant and
courageous forms.

The world owes a huge debt to the numerous women around the globe
who have effected change and have been a great source of inspiration to
us today and to the next generation of girls aspiring to be the inventors and
creators of tomorrow.

It is fortunate to observe a growing trend in the involvement of women in
various fields such as science, technology, business and the arts. However,
women are to play a more highlighted role in the world. The time has arrived
to facilitate the engagement of women in innovation and creativity and raise
awareness about its importance.

IFIA intends to publish a bulletin to illustrate female inventors and creators
who have brought about innovative change. Share your stories with us
