            RAISING AWARENESS ON WIPO ALTERNATIVE


                                     DISPUTE RESOLUTION



            Mr. Leandro Toscano from WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center paid a visit to IFIA booth
            during Geneva International Invention Exhibition on April 12th to discuss the collaboration
            between IFIA and WIPO Center with regards to WIPO Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

            It was agreed to organize a video conference during Silicon Valley International Invention
            Festival 2018 (SVIIF) in order to make the participants familiar with positive opportunities for
            dispute settlement instead of court litigation which is not time or cost efficient.


            Mr. Toscano also welcomed the idea of organizing offline seminars or conferences alongside                              ACADEMIC COOPERATION
            IFIA official events to raise awareness on how to submit a dispute to mediation.
                                                                                                                                    BETWEEN BELGRADE

            He also provided some explanations regarding unilateral request for WIPO Mediation Op-
            tion when no mediation agreement exists between the parties. To facilitate submission of                                POLYTECHNIC & IFIA
            such disputes to WIPO Mediation, a party may submit a unilateral Request for Mediation to
            the WIPO Center under the updated WIPO Mediation Rules effective since January 1, 2016.
            The WIPO Center may then assist the parties or, upon request, may appoint an external neu-
            tral to provide the required assistance.
                                                                                                                                    Mr. Masoud Tajbaksh, Representative of International Federation of Inventors' Associations
                                                                                                                                    (IFIA) visited Belgrade Polytechnic to focus on the academic cooperation protocol agree-
                                                                                                                                    ment between College of Vocational Studies Belgrade Polytechnic and IFIA.


                                                                                                                                    Belgrade Polytechnic Director, Prof. Dr. Marina Stamenovic had a meeting with Mr. Masoud
                                                                                                                                    Tajbaksh about the improvement of the academic cooperation between the two institu-
                                                                                                                                    tions at the Director’s Office.

                                                                                                                                    The current accredited study programs realized today consist of sections unified by the mis-
                                                                                                                                    sion and vision of the Belgrade Polytechnics with the goal to educate different profiles of
                                                                                                                                    higher education personnel for the needs of specific industries, and to educate specialists
                                                                                                                                    for narrow areas of expertise.

                                                                                                                                    All Study Programs require practice either to be working, professional, specialist or a pro-
                                                                                                                                    fessional project and final thesis. Within-subjects or groups of subjects, students are intro-
                                                                                                                                    duced to real-time modern technology and organization through student visits, practical
                                                                                                                                    and/or laboratory work in order to gain necessary knowledge and skills needed for direct
                                                                                                                                    involvement into the work process and to understand the profession.

                                                                                                                                    The School has established a quality system according to basic settings to SRPS ISO 9001,
                                                                                                                                    which ensures that all study programs have the same level of quality and are in compliance
                                                                                                                                    in terms of content, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
