Looking back on the past decade, it
is unfortunate to note that numerous
catastrophes have hit our planet hard.
Unrest, wars, drastic climate impacts,
and natural disasters repeatedly domi-
nate the headlines in the media. Most
recently, the devastating earthquake in
the Turkish-Syrian border region has just
hit the poorest. Countless dead, injured,
and homeless have been mourned, with
it being precisely the poorest and those
forgotten by the world who have been
affected.
