INVENT ARENA 2018 BRINGS OVER 4000
VISITORS & 380 INVENTORS TOGETHER
The second year of the International Exhibi-
tion of Technical Innovations, Patents, and
Inventions INVENT ARENA was held in Třinec
from 20th to 22nd June 2018.
The 2018 INVENT ARENA was held under
the auspices of Mr. Alireza Rastegar, the
President of the International Federation
of Inventors’ Associations, the Ministry of
Education, Youth and Sports, the Ministry
of Industry and Trade, the Czech Chamber
of Commerce, the Czech Academy of Sci-
ences, the Technology Agency of the Czech
Republic and Věra Palkovská, Mayor of the
City of Třinec.
This year’s Invent Arena was financially sup-
ported by the Moravian - Silesian Region,
the city of Trinec and by the Steel Union.
Over 47 exhibitors from 22 countries all
over the world took part in the exhibition.
The larger part of the 1 500 m2 exhibition
space belonged to the domestic exhibi-
tors. The second part was occupied by the
foreign exhibitors, who arrived mainly from
other European countries (Poland, Slovakia,

Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Russia,
Macedonia or Bosnia and Herzegovina), but
also from more distant destinations, such as
Taiwan, China, United Arab Emirates, Saudi
Arabia or Indonesia.
For three days, over 4 000 visitors could see
more than 140 inventions and innovations
which were signed up by over 380 inventors
for the best invention competition. The ex-
hibits were judged by the international jury
of experts from among the organizers and
representatives of foreign inventors’ organi-
zations. The best innovations were awarded
by the gold, silver and bronze medals or by
one of the special prizes.
The Gold IFIA Medal was granted to ROTA-
PHONE, a new mechanical sensor system
and measurement method for detection of
seismic ground motions.
The Grand Prix winner was selected out
of the winners of the eight categories; the
prize winner was “Pipeline leakage detec-
tion system” of ENV
