IFIA-DEV Global integration with young inventors was a key goal,
adds international STEM ambassador Sturm, and is being
cooperation - diplomacy of short distances implemented internationally by DEV as a founding member
of IFIA and is being fully supported by its active DEV board
German Inventors Association (DEV) – actively member Herbert Boos.
connecting peoples with IFIA As a doer and visionary, the new DEV board member
Herbert Boos is keen to create structures that connect
nations between inventor nations and to rely on close
cooperation and strong integration between DEV and IFIA.
For over 40 years, Dipl.-Phys. Winfried Sturm has not only been
closely associated with his inventors at the student high-tech
inventors’ workshop (HAG) at the Faust Gymnasium, but is also
the responsible coordinator for the international concerns
of the DEV-KIT youth initiative, in particular for promoting
the creativity of interested young inventors worldwide. As
an international STEM ambassador, he is active worldwide,
cooperates with embassies, makes contact with companies,
visits universities and schools and in this way gets to know
different nations, cultures and religious perspectives.
Looking beyond the national horizon, adds Sturm, not only
enables young people to focus on the diverse facets of different
cultures, but also leads to the realization that talking to each
other prevents many problems from arising in the first place
or makes them easier to resolve. The most important means of
finding the right path is to avoid the wrong path! Ignorance and lack
of knowledge are also dangerous stumbling blocks in the media-
connected world: If you don’t know anything, you have to believe
everything and quickly become a victim of «fake news».
During his many visits to distant countries such as Iran, Korea,
Taiwan, China, Thailand, America and now Russia, globetrotter
Sturm has repeatedly realized that all people laugh in the same
language and hearts have no windows, only doors. Anyone who
understands this and acts accordingly can open doors instead of
slamming them shut, and can clear up misunderstandings instead
of creating new ones.
